Berge, (or Pfetzing) (Anna)Elisabeth (sen.) around 1843 to Galveston, TX emigrated with daughter but maybe only the daughter emigrated (see below Jacob Pfetzing dec 1853 to Galveston, TX)
Bickel, Ferdinand Daniel Feb 1853 b 7 Jan 1836
son of the teacher Valentin Bickel and his wife Catharina Elisabeth
(nee Schade in Sterkelshausen)
NB: Locally, in Clayton Co. Iowa, there is probably
much more information available which would let one conclude the village(s)
of origin of the various Bickels there. The online database of 19th
Century Hessian emigrants [by Schroeder & Fuelling GbR] includes some
of these emigrants, with a bit more information in some cases. See
http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/german_genealogy/sfemigr.htm
Not from Sterkelshausen:
Daniel Bickel from Oberappenfeld traveled with Johannes Bickel from Nausis
[both in HESAUS] on the same ship in 1846. Nausis is not too far from Sterkelshausen,
and Appenfeld is also in the vicinity. Oberappenfeld named today just Appenfeld
Gemeinde Knuellwald). In HESAUS, Daniel from Oberappenfeld is listed as 28
in 1846 with a son of one year named Johannes. Since the age of both this Daniel
and son Johannes match the elder Daniel in Clayton Co., ia with son John born
in 1845, and the first child born in Iowa was in 1847, his identity is almost
certain. The 7 Jan 1835 birthdate of Ferdinand Daniel [according to S&F] matching
the Jan 1835 date on the 1900 census for Daniel Ferdinand in Clayton Co. as
well as the ship and destination information points the way to the right person.
It would be surprising if those two were not related as well as the one who
came in 1872. [Don Ebbeler]
Durst, Justus Apr/May 1845 47; Brantweinbrenner (distiller) daughter 20, son 14, daughter 11

Heusner, Philipp 9 Aug 1852 to St Louis b 30 Oct 1829 Son of the farmer Johann Paulus and Elisabeth Heusner nee Schlein. Reported in a letter of 1 Feb 1855 that he'd married, 22 Sep 1854, Margarethe Berinus (?) immigrated from Reinheim, Grand Duchy Hesse-Darmstadt. Margarethas surname may be Bernius, as there are people with that surname in that area. [Dona Ritchie]

Holzauer, Philipp Apr 1852 b 1 Apr 1832

Pfetzing, Cornelius Jun 1852 b 12 Feb 1833 son of the farmer Conrad Pfetzing (Pfetzing #3) and Friederike (nee Sinning in Ersrode)
NB: Cornelius Pfetzing is listed in S&F, with birthdate 12 Feb 1833 and destination St. Louis, departure in 1852. There is a marriage in St. Louis listed at on Ancestry.com for Cornelius Phetzing and Anna M. Koch on 4 Oct 1860. They disappear from St. Louis by 1870, but may be the ones listed in the 1870 census for Adams Co, Mississippi, Natchez Township. That listing gives Cornelius Phetzing, 32, brick mason, b Germany; Mary, 32, b mo; Henry 5, b IL. St. Louis and Natchez are on the Mississippi River. Since the son was born in Illinois they seem to have gone to the east bank of the Mississippi before 1865. Likely the M in Anna M. Koch is for Mary. The age of this Cornelius is off, but the information likely came from Mary. [Don Ebbeler]
Pfetzing, George July 1856 b 10 Mar 1837 son of Conrad Pfetzing (Pfetzing #3) and his widow Friederike (nee Sinning), awaited by his brother Cornelius Pfetzing (or Berge) Anna Elisabeth (sen.) around 1843 to Galveston, TX.

From there he sent two letters in 1854 but was not heard from again. Married also Anna Elisabeth Degenhardt from Hergershausen, 3 Dec1826 in Sterkelshausen.
